High School Programs

Welcome to Martinez Adult Education’s Adult High School Program!

Our free programs are designed to help you reach your educational and professional goals. We offer the following academic program options; please click on the links below or on the right for more information about each program:

High School Diploma Program–In our fully accredited high school program, you will earn your credits to satisfy the requirements for graduation and achieve your diploma.

High School Equivalency Exam Preparation Program (GED®, HiSET®, TASC®) – In our test preparation class, you will study the subjects needed to take and pass any of the three High School Equivalency Examinations recognized by California to achieve your high school equivalency certificate.

Adult Basic Education Program / Pre-high school preparation–This supportive class helps you prepare for the rigors of the high school curriculum by providing individualized instruction in reading, writing, math, and other basic skills. Limited high school credit is available. Upon successful completion of this class, you may enroll in the High School Diploma or Independent Study Program.

Independent Study Program–If you are unable to attend classes on a regular basis, are able and willing to work independently a minimum of 15 hours a week, and are available to meet weekly with a teacher, our independent study program may work better for you to earn your high school diploma. Limited day and evening appointments are available. A $50 cash book deposit is required.

Our programs feature small, individualized classes which are taught by credentialed teachers and are structured to meet the needs of adult learners. Our commitment shows in the supportive and caring environment we have created. Please click on each link above for FAQs about each of our programs. In order to determine which program is best for you, attend one of our assessment sessions – no appointment necessary. Come to Room 17A any Tuesday evening at 6 pm or Friday morning at 9 am. After taking the reading and math tests, you will receive an appointment to meet with an advisor to register for the program. For more information, call 925-228-3276, Ext. 294.
