Message from the Director

Welcome to the Spring/Summer Quarters at Martinez Adult Education

Suzanne Murphy, Director

Dear Martinez Community,

I hope your new year is off to a great start.  This spring and summer we are continuing to offer classes that can help everyone in the community. If you or someone you know still needs to complete their high school diploma, do not wait!  Our high school classes and Adult Basic Education classes are free, and we have flexible schedules that allow you to come to school and receive support from our many great teachers.  You can work from anywhere you have Wi-Fi, and complete classes online. If you choose to take a high school equivalency exam, we are an official HiSET testing center which is one of the tests you can take and pass to receive your high school equivalency.  The teachers at Martinez Adult Education will help you prepare for the exam, and the school will give you a voucher to take the exam when you are ready.  We also invite all of our graduates to attend the graduation ceremony which will take place on Tuesday, June 27th, at 6:30 pm. If you want to improve your English, learn computer skills, train for a new career, or learn a new skill, we are here to support you.  We have classes morning, afternoon, and evening both online and hybrid (a combination of online and in-person).  If you have questions, our office staff is here to assist you from 8:30am-8pm Monday-Thursday and 8:30am-12pm on Friday.  You can call or stop by and our friendly, staff will help you with registration, answer your questions, and assist you in enrolling in any of our classes or programs. We are here to serve the community, and we can help with employment, resume assistance, or interview practice. We have a full-time career coach who is available to assist with employment needs and training. We look forward to hearing from you and supporting the community.

Sincerely,
Suzanne Murphy, Director
